Kyle Robarts
Sports Information Director

Kyle Robarts returned to McMurry University Aug. 1, 2009 to begin his second stint as McMurry's sports information director and his seventh full year in the field. His first stint with the university began in January of 2006 and he stayed through June of 2008.

During his first tenure, Robarts implemented the McMurry athletics logo when the university decided to go without the "Indians" nickname as a result of an NCAA mandate. He also redesigned the athletics web site for the 2006-07 school year before developing McMurry's athletics web site in association with Internet Consulting Services.

Robarts improved the historical records for football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, track and field and cross-country during his first term with McMurry. He was also responsible for the design of the building-sized athletic banners that were hung around the campus and designed the media guides and recruiting brochures from 2006 to June of 2008.

During the 2008-09 school year, he returned to his alma mater to pursue a master's degree in Higher Education Administration at Abilene Christian University. During that year he served as the graduate assistant for sports information working with award-winning SID Lance Fleming. Robarts is set to graduate with his master's from ACU in August of 2010.

He served as the Abilene Ruff Riders' official statistician in the team's inaugural year with Indoor Football League. Robarts will serve as the host for "Sports Overtime" McMurry's weekly sports show that airs Mondays during the school year at 6 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1560 AM KZQQ.

As an undergraduate, he received his bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication with a minor in youth and family ministry from ACU in December of 2005. He worked with ACU's sports information office from August of 2003 until graduation.

Robarts, 26, reports to the Department of Institutional Advancement and is involved with special projects and marketing for the university and the athletics program. He is a member of CoSIDA, the Abilene Sports Alliance and the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association.
